Fire of Love is a fascinating look at the lives of volcanologists Katia and Maurice Kraft, assembling archival footage into an irreverent love story that captures their personal and professional ions perfectly. A witty and whimsical watch.

STILL: A Michael J. Fox Movie honors the life and work of Michael J. Fox with heartwarming honesty and structures its story with subversive style and inventive editing. It’s full of intimate insight and never shies away from the star’s struggles, but also never forgets to have fun.

Though at times perhaps a bit too muted to make its ideal impact with all audiences, the introspective elegance of Kogonada's ideas in After Yang are too enthralling to deny entirely, powering the picture to a stirring - if subtle - resolution, enhanced by Colin Farrell’s poignant lead performance.

After Yang is a moving meditation on love and loss and an effectively emotional exploration of how to grapple with grief, but it is occasionally a bit too patiently paced at points. Still, a solid lead performance from Colin Farrell, stirring score, & pristine production design.
Cha Cha Real Smooth is the smash hit sensation of Sundance 2022 - a supremely charming crowdpleaser with a sensitive and side-splitting script and an exceptionally cast ensemble, including a career-best Dakota Johnson.

There’s a certain charm to Cha Cha Real Smooth’s awkward humor that’s just right up my alley. It might feel aimless to some, but it’s always consistently amusing, especially in how it captures the post-college malaise ALL too well.
Cooper Raiff’s chemistry with Dakota Johnson crackles, giving the film a compelling emotional core - a powerhouse pairing that’s sure to be one of the standouts from Sundance when all is said and done. He’s hit another home run, and after the stellar Shithouse, he’s now two-for-two.
Theater Camp is hilarious and heartfelt in equal measure, perfectly paced, and packed with laugh-a-minute gags and colorful characters (the kids are instant stars). Molly Gordon should run the world, Ayo Edebiri’s reactions are everything, and put Patti Harrison in more movies!!!
Judy Blume Forever is such an openhearted ode to the iconic author and all she’s given to girls by breaking every barrier imaginable and starting uncomfortable conversations about sexuality no one else would. A resonant tribute to the relationships she formed with readers.
Lucy and Desi may not break any new ground for documentaries, but it fantastically fills in the blanks left behind by Aaron Sorkin’s recent biopic, Being the Ricardos, and offers a more comprehensive dissection of this dynamic duo and the ups and downs in their relationship over the years.

Lucy and Desi is a sensationally sweet - if slightly surface-level - look at the rise of this iconic comedy couple and all the ups and downs in their relationship over the years. It doesn’t break new ground for documentaries, but it does right by their legacy and reminds you of their incredible impact. A perfect companion piece to Being the Ricardos.
