Mirrors No. 3 does not add anything new in Cristian Petzold's filmography, but it further establishes the director's place among the world's most interesting filmmakers working today. It's a minor chamber piece of old school European filmmaking, beautifully shot and very well-performed by Petzold's muse, Paula Beer, who is such a good actress.

Good script, great actors, but the direction lacks personality. Ozon's "Mon Crime" (2023), based on the same play, is a better film.

I loved this film. I loved its heroine, its side characters, its fun, its sex scenes, its heart. I loved the circumstances under which I watched it (opening film of Athens International Film Festival). Looking forward to rewatches.
