Fucking hell... That was INCREDIBLE! The best since the original. Dan Trachtenberg and Joshua Wassung's "Predator: Killer of Killers", now streaming on Hulu, is a no-holds-barred anthology of ultra-violence, compelling stories, and gorgeous animation. A stand out for the series and one of my top 5 films of the year. Three years ago, we were all blown away by what Dan Trachtenberg achieved with "Prey" and now he's taken it to the next level with a totally wild set of…
That fucking RULED! The best action film of the year. Len Wiseman's "Ballerina" is a spin-off worthy of the John Wick mythology that, as per tradition, continues to use brutal and kinetic violence as its cinematic language. Firstly, it was great to see so many of the "Shin Godzilla" crew, who I got to know and work with, back in the fold for this new project. Shinji Higuchi, Katsuro Onoue, Kazuhiro…
An entertaining creature feature. Alex Scharfman's "Death of a Unicorn" is a whole lot of fun with some surprisingly brutal kills, amusing characters, and a heartfelt story at its absurd center. A film about man's hubris that takes a "Jurassic Park" approach to unicorns. "Death of a Unicorn" starts its wild premise within its first 10 minutes and keeps getting more and more ludicrous (complimentary) after the nostalgically cool title card drops. Writer and director Alex Scharfman, in his debut…
