A film professor of mine was in Todd Solondz's class at NYU when he made this. According to him, after an early cut was screened for the class, everybody sat in silence, afraid to tell Solondz that he'd made a mediocre Woody Allen ripoff. That assessment still stands.
^ for context, he told me that story after watching a short film I made which was also a mediocre Woody Allen ripoff.

"Jules thought, 'It's fine to want to rediscover the laws for human life, but how practical it must be to conform to existing ones.'"
A comedy about three of the stupidest and most naive people ever to walk the earth, who make each other miserable for years and hurt everyone who comes into with them. It's a beautifully written movie that made me want to throw my laptop out of a window because these motherfuckers never learn ANYTHING.
"Catherine had always wanted her ashes scattered to the winds from a hilltop, but it was against regulations."
