I’ve heard this one is the best of the franchise and also truth be told I think this is legit my first movie I’ve seen with Henry Cavill in it (yes I know I haven’t seen man of steel or his incarnation of Superman yet but at some point will). Regardless I was wondering if I would prefer it over ghost protocol.

I loved when it changed aspect ratios making the screen fuller honestly for me makes it feel more immersive with the action (especially for that really cool one continuous shot where Hunt and Cavill are skydiving down or the helicopter sequence later on). On that note, this movie has some amazing action and is so breathtaking to watch (might be the best action on a technical level for the series so far). The stakes feel massively high and they keep ramping up especially with this movie with killing the Alec Baldwin and Henry Cavill going from someone working with Hunt to now being the bad guy which is such a cool turn in the story or when he threatens to kill his wife (damn this movie knows turns up the stakes when it needs to, I feel like the set up of Ethan’s wife in the 3rd movie makes it much stronger from this movie). It’s this movie where I now really love the team in general (I did like them earlier but now I genuinely love Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and the rest, I know this isn’t really much of a point but wanted to bring that up since they have grown on me massively). Also gotta mention Henry Cavill being a great villain in this movie and a great threat to hunt. I will it I still don’t care about that British agent chick from the last movie and to me I was wondering why she was even in this movie considering she really has no relevance towards anything here and at the start she still seems rogue for no reason, I give her slack in the last movie since she had plot relevance and a connection to villain unlike here where I was wondering what was the point of her (was wishing for the ghost protocol chick to come back I way prefer her). Also it did take some time for me to really get into this movie, but once I did it soared especially the chunk between the flight sequence and the escape from the police wasn’t the most engaging.

At first I was questioning why this was the best entry, but now I genuinely agree with the consensus this entry was so fantastic and easily my favorite of the bunch. Really excited for dead reckoning.
