Other than some bizarre self-serious stuff that felt tacked on and woefully misguided, this film is essentially 'Lawless' (2012) meets 'Deep Blue Sea' (1999), with loquacious, musically inclined creatures of the night instead of mako sharks; or rather 'Lawless' meets 'Green Room' (2015), either way - I hated it. I thought the banter was really weak and unamusing, especially in the first half, which was at least 20 minutes longer than it had any right to be. The second half…

For better or worse, in a few obvious and many inconspicuous ways, this film is 2024's 'The Shape of Water' (2017). Craig is excellent, Starkey is a revelation. It's easily Luca Guadagnino's best work since 'I Am Love', which remains his magnum opus.
