Hawaiian Shirts and Christmas Sweaters year round kinda person.
Breaking Bad is better than any film I’ve ever seen.
In total disbelief not just that this is a real movie, but that it has breathing room, that it feels like a dangerous kids film, scary and exciting, but also maintains the emotional and somewhat elevates it. There’s wonderful craft here, with some shots and sound design choices that had me choking back tears, and its action in the back half is some of the most spectacular stuff this year, and so in this very strange summer and very odd year for movies, it was such a pleasure for this to be so great, especially when there’s absolutely no reason for it to be.
I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to breathe again. Longlegs has installed something malicious and disheartening about the human experience that I will forever be trying to remove, but will never be allowed to. Unlike anything I’ve seen from this genre, and I’ve never been so petrified. It has been the first time since Breaking Bad’s Crawl Space that I cried from fear. Satanic Panic destroys all things porcelain. The teeth of the Hydra are in me.
