This fits in perfectly in the world of John Wick! The action is as creative as ever and leaves you stunned with its audacious brutality. The flamethrower duel and grenade scenes are some of the coolest action scenes in recent memory! Ana de Armas as Eve felt like more of an underdog than Wick was, so seeing her evolution from rookie to tenacious punisher was captivating. I truly hope we see her return in John Wick: Chapter 5. I will concede that this film had a forgettable villiain but it's nothing that prevented me from having an absolute blast in the theater.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning

This film is a lot to process as Ethan Hunt and the IMF are presented with their most impossible mission yet. The diving sequence with the submarine was remarkably immersive and anxiety-inducing, offering some of the coolest visuals in the franchise. The airplane sequence was unreal and once again showed that there's nothing Tom Cruise won't do to wow the crowd. The Entity and its chaotic nature feel like a feasible threat in today's society. If the franchise ends here (probably not), it would be ending on a memorable highpoint.

"I have seen the face of God."
- Howard Beale

This film feels more relevant than ever and it was released nearly 50 years ago. Its ensemble cast performances are some of the strongest I've ever seen. The script is unbelievably good, filled with multiple imioned and intellectually stimulating monologues.

I had the privilege of watching Justin Hurwitz conduct the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra for a screening of La La Land at The Auditorium. This was one of the best concerts I've been to. The Entr'acte was a beautiful addition! They played the credits songs all the way through. It was great to finally watch this in a packed theater where everybody laughed at the comedic moments and sniffled through the epilogue scene. What an incredible experience!

Thunderbolts*' emotional resonance with me was greater than I could have imagined. Its announcement was met with skepticism because of the group's unpopular , but the team dynamic by the end of the film is exceptional. Florence Pugh's Yelena has been one of the standout characters from the Multiverse Saga, so seeing her take center stage in a leadership role felt right. David Harbour's Red Guardian was hilarious as expected, but his chemistry with Yelena gave us the best scene…
