Nate “Natetella” Tella’s review published on Letterboxd:
"Have you heard the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise?"
As far as the prequels go, Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith is by far the strongest (although ittedly it's not much of a challenging competition). I know the early episodes often receive heavy criticism, but I’ve always found the beginnings of the Republic and the political drama fascinating, at least from a lore perspective. Episode III gets emotional and down right fucked. It’s a tragic tale that reaches a far darker tone than most entries in the saga. Revisiting it in theaters was an absolute treat, and I’ll stick by it. Holds up nearly 20 years later, especially in theaters!
The film is packed with iconic, historic moments, building up to & including Anakin’s transition into Darth Vader. Order 66 remains one of the most haunting sequences in the series, Jesus Christ. The Anakin vs. Obi-Wan duel is the peak cinema, providing my favorite fights in the entire Star Wars series
The CGI holds up remarkably well for a mid-2000s film, and John Williams’ score remains, of course, peak
