Her is nothing more, and nothing less than a true masterpiece. I went into this film with many expectations however what I did not expect was how funny this film was going to be. This film is fantastic for the humour however it is so much more than that. The emotion and relationships within it are so genuine and at the end of the day, oddly relatable given the central premise of the film.

This is undoubtedly my favourite film of 2013. The coming of age story about a socially awkward teen (Liam James) who has been forced to spend summer at the beach with his mother (Toni Collette) and her new 'douchey' boyfriend (Steve Carell). This set up maybe seem like another cliche cinema experience however the performances and subtlety with which this film has been crafted and created, deliver one of the most genuine and enjoyable films of the year.

Ben Stiller has has produced a solid film, however it is by no means perfect and at points can be a little heavy handed. The story can also be described as an 'easy win' (who is not a fan of self discovery travel films) however Stiller's preformance makes up for some of the lazier aspects of the film to deliver an easily watchable movie.
