Spike Lee truly is a master at what he does. This film is so relevant to today. it proves that the world hasn't really changed, it's still made up of the broken systems it always had. You could feel the heavy Apocolypse Now inspirations. The scenes set in the Vietnam War were incredible and looked like they were filmed almost like a documentary. for me I felt the long run time, the beginning dragged a bit but then it really picked up in the second act and really didn't let up.
Delroy Lindo gives a stellar, oscar worthy performance. He must be cherishing that scene with Chadwick Boseman towards the end of the film now. It's a very harrowing one and one that is so surreal now that Chadwick is gone.
