I have a recurring nightmare in which i wake up beneath my blankets, alone in my bed, and try as i might I can't seem to emerge from beneath the covers. 

Mild at first, but my anxiety grows as i claw at the fabric before i eventually break out into a full panic in an attempt to resurface into something familiar, into safety, but i never do; i remain beneath a layer of captivity until I'm yanked from sleep into reality and only then realize I was dreaming at all.

The Descent ('05,) felt like a nightmare even before the monsters showed up. The characters sliding their way down, down, down, until the geographical discrepancy between "up" or "down" was negligible. The characters were clearly forced into uncomfortable situations that, regardless of the actors literal level of comfort, still managed to invoke a level of anxiety for me that meant I would, somewhat insidiously, make this movie required viewing at any sleepover.

The twist at the end is also rad as hell. 
Neat movie for sure.

"Nostalgia" and the feeling of reconciling with the age of time seems to most often be described as a positive feeling, one that constantly affords us a comfortable or pleasant look into the past that, when done "right" seems to bond us through shared cultural experiences. 

Skinamarink is maybe the first time in my life a nostalgic feeling was weaponized against me and my personhood to illicit the most visceral feeling of dread and anxiety throughout. Pleasant things like watching cartoons with my siblings become juxtaposed with the feeling of being alone on a Saturday night in a house as empty and seemingly hostile as the situations present in Skinamarink and for that i will always commend this film for giving me a viewing experience i've never had before, and one i will surely never forget - paradoxically, for that, it's one of my faves

I'm a simple guy, big monke fightin big lizards will never not make my day

You know what? Hell yeah, good movie

Cailee Spaeny is basically in every movie i love these days, and this is no exception. I've seen Alien Romulus more times than i've seen any other movie this year for one reason or another and i plan on seeing it many more times before i die

I think i'm constantly putting this film out of my head because of the visceral reaction i have when thinking about it - cinema at it's finest, the first time i saw it was also the first time i realized i loved film 

"Your Name" is great too, but i'd be lying to myself if i didn't acknowledge BOTSW as a favorite of mine

I didn't know it was possible to make a movie that could so easily be described as "emotional terrorism." I didn't mind it. I did cry, but happy tears.

I like Mikey Madison and she did a good job. Like, such a good job in fact i forgot it was Mikey Madison, which is a really neat thing to experience.

I saw this movie with my sister and we both cried, was a really sweet moment to have with my family and for that: good film, very neat

Broey Deschanel inspired me to watch this movie, it's neat.

The first movie i watched and realized this medium was truly an art form

Favorite film of all time - i watch it every plane ride, i put it on in the background to feel the ambience, i listen to the soundtrack when i go for roadtrips - it's perfect and that's just how it is

I show this film to all of my friends that think they might wanna get to Japanese animation; if they love it, we go from there, if they dob't like it, we're not friends. Easy peazy.
