The film really didn’t inspire me to have anything to say about it, except that the nipple talk was cringeworthy. I don’t know…it ed the time entertainingly enough for me to sit though it? Does that count?

Is this almost two hours’ worth of nonsensical plotting, unlikeable characters, hodgepodge editing and terrible dubbing worth it for a lot of things going boom and insane helicopter stunts? No.
Something about terrorists, drugs and kidnappings, this 90s Russian actioner - which looks very much like an 80s actioner; hello moustaches, muscle tank tops and bandanna headbands - is all empty bombastic posturing. Without building in any investment in characters, it plays out as overlong and dull, which led to it being soundtracked by me whining ‘who cares’ every ten minutes. Still, there’s no denying the explosions are both abundant and fun.

Maybe if I was watching this through nostalgia goggles, I’d feel more positive about it. But I wasn’t, so I didn’t.
