Hi everyone! The movie I wrote & directed last year is finally available for public viewing at this link: vimeo.com/879214460

If you are interested and have 15 minutes to spare, I would deeply appreciate you for watching and leaving a review with your honest thoughts. As I continue with post-production on our next short, Be the Creature, all is truly encouraging and helpful.

This is a film about a creative person in conflict with her own ideas,…

I watched this because Colin Higgins wrote and directed it, and it has a lot more going on to make it enjoyable than I expected, given that Chevy Chase isn't my vibe as a comedian - he is ittedly less of a moldy cheese man here than I'm used to, and Goldie Hawn is adorable, and Higgins' script has a lot of amusing bits. Friedkin's law enforcement films definitely have a formula he imposes onto them - which I love, especially after reading his book, as it speaks to what compelled him about the subject matter. Pros:
- Super fun.
- A smart depiction of queer people in a rural setting.
- Heartwarming messages about how queer people can be good parents & overcoming internalized homophobia.
- Cool trans lady character complete with righteous anger.
- ABBA!

Cons:
- Trans woman played by cis man.
- Weird running joke about deadnaming the trans character.
- Exhausting racist-as-fuck subplot goes on forever.
- Too visually distinctive and fun to remake easily, forcing us to sit through the deadnaming and racism because the rest of it is actually good.

Was not expecting the official Godzilla Twitter to post a 2-minute short film about stop-motion Godzilla accepting his trans daughter on the last day of Pride Month, but here we are. Godzilla said trans rights!! And I'm crying.
