“I didn’t want to use him to fill all my emptiness.”

So devastating, yet I almost feel nothing. This story is so complete that the ending, though painful, feels necessary.
The core of this film is patience. The audience, the brother, Travis, and the filmmaker. Wenders understands— better yet, declares that honest, true emotion can only come out once a character and the viewer has made it past the initial cinematic lie of a scene. We have innate expectations when…

“Because if I’m different then I wouldn’t be the guy who lost you.”

Celine Song has once again crafted a film that perfectly captures the imperfect. With a razor sharp script that’s riddled with double meaning, contradiction, and self-reflection, the story immediately cements itself as an all-time classic romance. A contemporary blend of When Harry Met Sally and In the Mood for Love

VENCEDORA DE MELHOR ATRIZ FERNANDA TORRES 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

The Motorcycle Diaries is actually the film that opened my world to foreign language cinema, and I’m Still Here had such a similar impact on me… Walter Salles is truly a one of a kind filmmaker.

Fernanda Torres was absolutely remarkable. The standout performance of the year.

The performances, score, editing, cinematography, writing are all working in perfect tandem.

Honestly should be a front runner for picture, actress, directing, screenplay, and editing… at least we can hope for one win.

What I kept hearing as I left the theater: “the teeth…” “the wood…” “HIS TEETH???”

Every single issue I had with Talk to Me was fixed here. Perfect pacing, stunning cinematography, exceptional performances (Sally Hawkins… oh my god), and some of the best vision impairment representation I’ve ever seen.
Also the first jump scare to actually get me in sooo long

Demon scare that’s more effective than Insidious…
