Aware in its own era, and prescient about what was to transpire afterward. This film should be viewed by everyone in their lifetime.

This was almost like a grand-scale episode of The Twilight Zone (though that is not meant to suggest it is of a fantastical nature). The cinematography -- particularly the use of light and shadow -- was impeccable, as was the dialogue and Burt Lancaster's enunciation. Everything was so crisp.

Quite the musical score.

I couldn’t let it go unmentioned that I loved the decision to make the film look as though it were shot in the 1960s.

What a performance. Also, Bokeem Woodbine!
