I didn't realize that Kelly Reichardt's best movie was her first movie. I wish she made more films like this, but this may recontextualize her less-is-more approach. That said, I'm open-minded to whether her best movie may be her latest movie... This is First Cow prep.

The confidence and multi-tasking is impressive. I could have gone for another 15-20 minutes, but it's rare to get a 70 minutes movie that feels full.

I just want to thank Netflix for making this 80 minutes long and not as a four-hour miniseries. I haven't been able to stand any true crime docies since OJ Made in America. So much filler.

Yeah, anyone coming into this blind would hate this. I dug its vibe and existential moments. The connective tissue is sparse.

The second half did to me what God does to Maud.

Very very slight, but that's very much the point. I really appreciated Kitty Green's sense of story economy, even if I didn't quite appreciate the pace it comes at.

One of the best most personal treatises on mortality and the importance of diaries. Sometimes confronted head-on, sometimes completely incidental. To be honest, Cameraperson did little for me, but I loved this.

Very low-key and light, but it's kind of nice to just breathe without that weight for a little while, you know?

I'm glad I didn't watch it before Kajillionaire because this brand of quirky is not my jam.

Indie spirit. Some misses, but generally a good tonic for the apocalypse of our own.

Double bill it with The Social Dilemma.

The film is ok.

Fairly contrived and very much "written", but performed and crafted with such enthusiasm that it was easy to get swept up and just enjoy it. I have no idea how accurate it is though. Zoey Deutch is a star.
