This is another film (alongside with Psycho) that I found to be overrated on my first viewing. It’s not that I didn’t like and enjoy it, but I didn’t think of it as a masterpiece. Well, my opinion on both of these movies changed, because holy shit this film is absolutely insane. The overlook hotel setting is so fucking terrifying, it’s just so huge and symmetrical that it just makes me feel really uncomfortable. The score in this is just incredible, and both Jack’s and Shelley’s performances are probably the best in all of horror. It’’s simply a perfect film and you can’t change my mind.

i just left the movie theater and OH MY GOOOD!!! It was such an amazing experience and i had so much fun!!! I love this movie more than anything else istg. Watching it on the big screen was literally like a dream come true for me AND I ALREADY WANNA WATCH IT AGAIN. Cinema at its finest. Sigourney Weaver I love you.
