Hey! I directed this movie. We shot it in the Spring of 2019 and had hoped to play at film festivals and get released in 2020 but a pandemic happened and changed everything. For a while, we weren't sure if we could release the movie at all. It was all of a sudden something completely different than we ever intended it to be now that the world was actually experiencing what was meant to be science fiction in our film. But it did get released (Thank you, IFC Films!) and since I never got to see it with an audience, I really only had places like Letterboxd to check in on and see how it was being received. And I…
“I was so sad the day I met you, I can’t why.”
this hurt me deeply and I'll never forget it also the ending absolutely destroyed me in the best possible way. no one talk to me for 3 - 5 business days while i sit and process this.
“when your disaster is everyone’s disaster, how do you grieve?”
this movie was literally ahead of its time
eternal sunshine of the spotless mind's cousin
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
i died a little bit when olivia cooke said "i was so sad the day i met you, i can't why" in the beginning and then i died too much when she said it again in the end.
no you guys don’t understand, that ending... let me forget it so i can watch it all over again for the first time
It's rare to see a romance film really embrace touch. Sure, usually there's some softcore sex or a moment where they finally kiss after longingly gazing at each other for the whole movie, but after these moments burn brightly it's like all the fuel's been spent and the little affection elsewhere simply flickers, extinguished.
Little Fish gets the little things right, or at least it gets the little touches right. Emma and Jude are a couple who make constant reaffirmations of their love to each other through small, unspoken gestures. He pulls her arm around his neck and she clasps it firmly with her other arm, continuing to simply hum and smile alongside him. She carries him on her back…
Men keep on losing their senses around Olivia Cooke and like, I totally get it dudes.
“I was so sad the day I met you, I can’t why”
I never ever want to forget this film
In every movie I've seen Olivia Cooke in she just seems like the perfect ride or die girlfriend
“i was so sad the day i met you, i can’t why” who else wishes they were dead from suicide
