Watching this relatively soon after the first it has a bit of a tonal whiplash for me. I know everyone kinda ignores the original EVIL DEAD in favor of the sequels but I really dug the lower budget horror feel of it and how it mostly played it straight. That’s not to bouth this movie but I guess when push comes to shove I like it when the EVIL DEAD movies lean full on into horror like 1 or go over the top like part 3, and being in the middle of those two this one seems… different.

Obviously it’s not bad (clearly by my rating) but I guess I kinda like part 1 more.
