About 50 minutes into this 99-minute long movie (the scene where Robert Carlyle has a heart to heart with you know who) I turned to my wife and said “I guess here’s the point where the movie gets stupid.”

She responds incredulously, “HERE?? And not 20 minutes ago???”

Folks are way too casual about the virus in this movie. I can’t imagine any situation where there’s a super infectious virus on the loose and people are walking around without ANY protection on their faces at all, even though such protection would be accessible and easy to wear—oh. Oh no. Oh my god.

A horror film that spends an entire hour setting up characters, place, and time so that when people start dying you actually give a shit. 

Pretty sure this entered “classic” status in my heart when the Asian characters opened their mouths for the first time in a film set in 1932 and spoke with a southern accent.

“You tore up her picture!”
“I’m gonna tear up this fucking dance floor dude. Check it out.”
