Cody’s review published on Letterboxd:
About as well-directed as a stage-to-screen adaptation can hope to be, especially because Wolfe treats the camera as another character when it comes to blocking. So many play adaptations just tack the camera to the wall, this one uses the camera to its advantage and shows the audience what they wouldn’t be able to see on stage.
Davis is unbelievable in what might actually be my favorite performance of hers. She’s so in her own well-guarded world that she rarely even makes eye with other characters - a choice that would be disastrous for most actors but is totally illuminating here. Boseman gives probably the greatest final performance of all time. Startling work.
