Always wanted to see this one as I’m always extremely interested to see alternate versions of existing movies. Cool concept for sure!
Was a little disappointed that it wasn’t quite as different as the theatrical, does still contain a lot of the stuff that bothered me like the losing powers and undoing of everything in the ending. However this one felt more like a movie. The theatrical cut suffers from horrendous pacing, scenes go on far too long and contain cheesy aspects that cross a line. This one is much quicker paced, certain scenes felt shaved down that I understood better what was happening, editing truly makes a difference. I feel like I can respect this far more as a film despite a lot of my issues still present.
Honestly I’m more annoyed at the fact that the disc for this one scratched too, what’s funny is it happened right after Superman yelled “FATHER!” Not nearly as funny as the “FATHER *BANG*” from Oldboy 2013 but this one has the advantage of being attached to a good movie so, you know.
