Did not know anything about the plot of this going in. But double Michael B. Jordan was enough for me.

Imagine my surprise when I was treated to a beautifully shot vampire movie, love story (ies), musical history, and satisfying revenge story.

Honestly wanted to walk back in and watch it again.

All the little Ozu kids are amazing.

Highlights:

Bodies, Bodies, Bodies. I don’t think I’ve ever seen more bodies in a one night capsule movie. 

Potatoes!—but only time for one round.

Unrequited love between death row inmate and police secretary.

Requited love between lieutenant and death row inmate. 

Actual child murder.  I was sincerely shocked by this.
