This is so hollow. Even its moments of slight charm feel utterly manufactured. The whole thing just feels off-putting and wrong. The prince or bandit or whatever the fuck is hot tho.

The space between reality and feeling, between longing and madness. It's a thin line. A film about those who would go to the ends of the earth to find connection. I thought this was heartbreaking and simultaneously life affirming. One of the best of the year.

A film that didn’t really evoke anything in me; not fear, disgust, shock, certainly not surprise. It’s all very handsome and I came away with iration for the technical craft on display but it’s all just so… barren. Robert Eggers is a talented filmmaker no question, but here he plays all the notes and none of the music. It’s a ion project that feels ionless.
