How can a film with an extremely grim outlook on the industry end on such a positive note, and yet, still work on every level? Damien excellently  juxtaposes the rotten core of the early days of Hollywood with the art form’s inherent beauty and magic. The film is a grand, bombastic, and truly BABYLONIAN ride fueled by Justin Hurwitz’s banging score. Damien Chazelle’s most ambitious project to date. This will definitely gain Cult Classic status in the years.
