A solid adaptation of one my favourite childhood books. The animation is lovely.

This a lot maturer, darker and atmospheric than I was expecting…bloody good stuff.

This is basically Final Destination’s quirky cousin.

This could have been a riveting journalistic drama ends up being a fairly run of the mill dramatisation of these specific events. The performances are all brilliant and there are brief instances of flair in the direction but not much else.

Haven’t seen this one in ages and it still holds up. Great script, great cast and a solid balance of humour and drama.

As my first delve into the “older” Godzilla films this one was an odd one to start with. Some of the cuts are so abrupt and the way music will just stop and start in scenes is so laughable, not at least to mention the “Americans” who can’t speak a word of English. The battle scenes between Godzilla and Biollante are well done but everything else is just a bit too dated.

At times this film can be rather strange and other times it can be incredibly heartfelt. A great balance that shouldn’t work but 100% does.

This looked really promising as a fan of the two lead actors and this genre, but Ash leaves a lot to be desired. Though its visuals, soundtrack and acting are all spot on it falls flat when it comes to its pacing and storytelling.

I don’t know what I expected but this felt rather messy compared to the OG. Still had its moments but lacks a certain something.

An important and powerful documentary that really taps into the general, recurring issue disabled people have when trying to get their voices heard.

I had a good time with this film but it could have easily had some of its runtime trimmed off. The stunts and stakes are some of the most intense in the series for sure and that is where the film shines.

Unfortunately, where the film has to do a lot of explaining and reminding of events previous films is where is struggles. The information presented isn’t the issue, it’s more to do with how frequently the audience is reminded of things to the point where it gets a little annoying, as if they don’t trust us to something we told 5 minutes ago.

Watching this right after Andor hits different in so many ways.

Death is back….and he’s having a whale of a time. This was great, I loved the dynamics of the core family, I liked the overall execution and there is one death in particular that is a genuine all timer for the franchise.

I will always love this film. It’s relentlessly entertaining, the visual effects are still stunning and I cannot reinforce how good the cast is. Anton you will always be missed 😢

Despite their flaws I think the prequels have aged quite gracefully for the most part, Revenge of the Sith being the best example of this.

Marvel aren’t back, they’ve just been cooking. This was so damn good!

A lovely little documentary about loss, growing up in nature and adapting to new ways of living.

As someone who adores The Raid 1 and 2 I went into Havoc something similar from Evans. Unfortunately this is rather disappointing. Strange use of CGI, predictable characters and story with its only saving grace being the action set pieces…but even those aren’t on the same level as The Raid films. It’s not the worst thing I’ve ever seen but it’s far from great.

Well that was one of the most intense films I’ve seen in some time. If it doesn’t get nominated for Best Sound Design at the Oscars then I will riot because the sound of that film was immense.

The cinematography, the performances, the score…everything about this film is working at full throttle and it shows. The first hour took a bit to get going but it never, at any point, felt boring.

PS. A polite fuck you to the family/group that kept getting up and moving seats across the room throughout the entire film.

The OG USS Callister is an all timer when it comes to Black Mirror episodes. This was a decent follow up for what it’s worth.

The sentiment is there and I appreciate what it’s going for but this documentary just tells us what we already know about why people need pets.

A rather infuriating episode but deliberately so.

All parts touching as it is heartbreaking.

A decent episode, love the stylistic approach of this one.

Halfway between a throwback and something fresh. Really enjoyed this one.

I had quite a bit of fun with this film but the standout by a country mile was Will Poulter. He is without a doubt the funniest aspect of the entire film.

This was a blast, not sure why it’s taken me so long to watch this.

Everything about this is so chaotic and spot on from the performances, writing, camerawork and editing. Loved every second.

10 minutes into this I thought to myself “how the hell is this more bonkers than the first one?”

This thought never left my head for the remainder of the film’s runtime.

Not sure why it’s taken me this long to watch it but this a solid little short film.

I miss fun, 2000s adventure films like this.

When it comes to style this film delivers but everything else is a rather scattered and lacklustre. The music is decent for the most part but there’s nothing that will particularly stay with you afterwards.

A decent drama with brilliant performances that keep the film afloat.

Don’t bother with this one. It’s takes the Mickey.

Dark, inventive and consistently engaging from start to finish.

My first time watching this years and it’s just as bizarre, quirky and funny as I . Marvin is my spirit animal.

A decent French melodrama with dark undertones.

Genuinely brilliant. So much style and personality squeezed into one film whilst never sugarcoating a single thing.

This was alright. I don’t think it’s nearly as bad as people are saying it is but it’s no masterpiece either. With that being said, it really didn’t need the $320 million budget it had.

This was lovely. Yes, it’s not as memorable as the first but it’s still really good in its own right and really funny.

I went into this with decent expectations but every character is just as unlikeable as the last and the humour is incredibly hit and miss.

Why did it take me so long to watch this? Great performances all around and a somewhat grounded portrayal of neurodiversity in a way that’s not overdramatised or exaggerated.

This really worked for me. Teller and Joy are great, the premise is well executed and gets more intriguing as it goes and of course Reznor and Ross deliver with another fantastic score.

This wasn’t awful but it wasn’t great either. Knowing how good the first film was these film are just getting weaker in quality, despite this one having the odd joke that works here and there.
